Catriona specialises in commercial litigation and insolvency, acting for a range of clients, including liquidators and bankruptcy trustees, large corporate groups, and small businesses providing advice and dispute resolution services.

Catriona has gained broad experience during her 13 years practicing law, regularly appearing in all courts as an advocate for her clients in litigious matters.

With a focus on resolving disputes commercially, Catriona has a strong background in mediation as a method to obtain time-efficient, cost-effective, and commercial outcomes for clients.

  • Acted for liquidators in pursuing claims for insolvent trading, voidable transactions, and breach of director’s duties
  • Acted for individuals and businesses defending claims by bankruptcy trustees and liquidators for undervalued transactions and complex preference claims
  • Acted for liquidators defending proceedings by minority creditors to replace them as liquidators
  • Acted for administrators to obtain relief from personal liability under the Corporations Act for rent and other obligations incurred in the course of voluntary administration during COVID shutdowns
  • Acted for administrators and liquidators in proceedings to compel delivery up of company assets and books and records by recalcitrant company officers
  • Acted for both liquidators and creditors in proof of debt disputes
  • Acted for large corporate groups pursuing guarantors and recovering debts
  • Provided advice in relation to secured interests under the PPS Act
  • Acted in development disputes amongst unitholders and shareholders

Catriona began her career at a mid-tier firm in Melbourne before moving to boutique practice with a strong focus on the best client outcomes, coming to specialise on commercial litigation and insolvency.

Catriona has also acted as an independent solicitor appointed by the Court on making Anton Pillar orders.
