In a career spanning over 45 years Robert Gardini has held senior leadership roles as a commercial lawyer, company director, mediator, and regulatory consultant delivering successful outcomes to companies, industry bodies and federal and State/Territory governments.
Robert has extensive expertise in competition law and policy, corporate governance, negotiation and mediation, franchising law and policy, and financial services across a range of industries.
He boasts a wealth of experience in the automotive franchising space, acting for motor vehicle dealers and dealer councils across Australia. As a result of the current Senate inquiry into dealer/distributor relationships, his recent work includes further consultation around regulatory reforms.
Robert’s experience in competition law and policy has included being the regulatory consultant for the Business Council of Australia; acting for peak industry bodies in relation to reviews of Competition Law and Policy; conducting competition reviews of legislation for Government; and acting for the ACCC in relation to compliance matters.
Robert has advised a number of superannuation funds, including one fund which, through direct investments (including property investments) grew its funds under management from $1 billion to over $6 billion.
